Characters from the novel Throne of Glass.  Queen Elena and the creepy rotting guy from when Celaena got poisoned.  That’s it! Part of the reason why I chose this book to do for my term project in class was that the characters were really diverse.  Yes there are a lot of pretty people.  It’s a YA novel what do you expect? But there are uglies as well, and supernatural characters which makes it fun to draw :)

ifcomics: Cat Calls In honor of albinwonderland reblogging street harassment posts lately, I rebloged this minicomic I made a while ago. Yeah. I’ve been sexually harassed on the street, just like almost every girl.  It started as early as 15 years old and I was just walking home from high school.  I would always feel like I was asking for it even though I wasn’t.  Why anybody would catcall to a chubby, pimple-faced, conservatively-dressed teenager is beyond me.  It happened most notably when I went through my “goth” faze, and wore cute blouses/dresses, tights and boots all the time. Eventually I had to change the way I dressed because I was, of course, asking for it.  Here is an accurate representation of me in high school. Yes asking for it.  I mean, this is the image of “slut that wants to be hit on by dirty old men in gardening trucks”.  I’m being sarcastic or maybe I’m not.  The point is, I changed the way I looked, eventually, because of the harassment.  I blamed myself, my poor 15 year old self for the bad behavior of other people.  I started wearing big sweaters, baggy pants, wearing less makeup, and guess what?  It did nothing to deter the whistling. What I still don’t know, to this day, is why guys (and girls I guess) still do it?  The catcalls.  Has there ever been a positive reaction to a guy saying “nice titties, slut.”  They had to be encouraged at some point but I don’t know a single girl that accepts that kind of behavior and actually likes it? Can we find these people and put them on an island?
